Entertainment announced for the 2019 Fordingbridge Festival

Fordingbridge Events Group today shares details of some of the entertainment set to run at the Fordingbridge Festival, which will run from 10.30 – 5pm at the Fordingbridge Recreation Ground on 20th of July 2019.

Entertainment details

In the main arena, there will be some incredible acts including a heavy horse obstacle course, bird of prey display, fire and rescue demonstration, tug of war, children’s tractor pull, football skills and more.

There will also be a music stage where visitors can sit and chill watching live performances from local musicians running throughout the day. The Kid’s zone will have loads to keep children of all ages entertained, including face painting, bungee trampolines, a climbing wall, tea cup rides, badge making, Punch and Judy and children’s entertainer Krazy Kev.

Nicky Jenkins, Chair of Fordingbridge Events Group, says: “Last year, we had an amazing festival, but we asked for feedback and this year, we have taken this on board.

“One of the comments was that because it was so busy, there were long queues at the food stalls, so this year we have two food and drink zones with more options than ever before. We have something to offer for everyone, from meat eaters to vegans and everything in between. Visitors will be able to wash it all down with some local ales, ciders and fizz or enjoy a slice of cake in our tea tent.”

Listening to feedback

This year will also see the return of the countryside area where there is a chance to meet some farm animals, watch chainsaw woodcarving and take part in ferret racing among other things. In the dog zone, which is being run by Colfords of Fordingbridge, there will be lots of owner and dog competitions running throughout the day, including best puppy, waggiest tail and best rescue, culminating in a best in show.

For those interested in vehicles, the festival will have over 60 classic cars, vintage tractors, bikes, scooters, lawnmowers and steam engines. You will be able to take a ride in a Tuk Tuk and Trigger The Train around the perimeter road. Plus, there will be over 60 stalls with plenty of things to buy from local artisan businesses, and lots of local organisations will be on hand to tell you more about what they do in the community.

Nicky adds: “The festival, which is the Fordingbridge Events Group’s main fundraiser and is run by a team of volunteers, is a great day out for all the family. There is so much to see and do and we want everyone to have a great day. We are currently looking for volunteers to spare some time to help with marshalling on the day. Anyone who can spare two hours to help out will get free entry to the festival.”

Anyone who is looking to get involved with the festival with sponsorship, marshalling or booking a stall should contact us.
